What is a Non-Mirrored Winrate (NMWR)?
A NMWR is an agent's winrate calculated after removing games where they appeared on both teams (removing Mirrored Games). We remove these games because they make it difficult to see an agent's genuine strength or weakness.
What is a Combo NMWR?
A Combo NMWR is the winrate of an agent pairing - how much a pair of agents win or lose together. This is calculated by selecting games where these two agents played together and removing mirrored games.
There are two different ways we calculate mirrored games:
- Solo NMWR removes games whether either agent in the combo appears on the opposing team. For example, if we are looking at Astra-Viper's Combo NMWR, we would remove all games in which Astra or Viper appear on the opposing team, even if they appear solo.
- Composite NMWR removes games only when both agents in the combo appear on the opposing team. For example, in the same Astra-Viper example, we would keep games where either Astra or Viper appeared solo on the opposing side, but remove games where both appeared at once.
Solo Combo NMWR generally is more accurate at displaying how strong a combination is, but has issues with sample size. Composite Combo NMWR has more sample size, but is more inaccurate if the combo contains an agent with a high play rate.
What is a Synergy?
A Synergy is the benefit (or negative impact) playing two agents together causes. This allows us to see if a good agent winrate is because one of the agents in the combo is overpowered, or if the combo is genuinely very strong. This is calculated by subtracting the winrate of the first agent in the combo from their Combo NMWR, allowing us to calculate the positive or negative impact the pairing has on the second agent.
